This will be my last update until after Megacon! I'm getting all packed up and ready to rock. My commission rates for the con will be the same as the pre sale. I'll do as many commissions as I can live at the con so be sure to come by early to get one one done if you are gonna be at the show. Here are my updated prices:

Its a great read, Eric is at the top of his game and I really had a chance to cut loose on the pages and Peng just killed the inks.  Pick up a copy at your local comic shop and bring it to the con. We'll sign it up for you. Or if you don't have time to pick one up , I'll have plenty at the table.

Mega Con is just one week away March 21-23. Me and the Identity Comics Crew (Peng, Bryan Turner, and Me) will be set up in Artist Alley at Purple 8 and 9. To prep for the Show I am opening commissions at my convention rates right now Through March 19th. If you are interested in getting a commission piece from me this is the best way to make sure you get on my list. My Convention prices are:

Our mission – to get more people to donate to disaster relief efforts for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. As a thank you, members of IDSTUDIOS will be drawing single-character pencil headsketches for every $26 donation. The $6 will go towards shipping your sketch to you. (We’re only shipping to addresses in the U.S. Sorry, we can’t ship these internationally.) The rest will be given directly to the Philippine Red Cross. Feel free to donate more than $26. If you would like more than one sketch, it’s $26 for each sketch.

If you would like to participate in our mission, please send at least $26 via PayPal as a GIFT to INFO@IDENTITYCOMICS.COM. Sending it as a GIFT will prevent fees from being taken out. We will then donate the total amount at the end of 2 weeks directly to the Philippine Red Cross. Please provide us your name, mailing address, email address, character you’d like drawn, and your artist of choice in the MESSAGE box. You can choose between Peng-Peng, theFranchize, or Flash to draw your sketch. You can email INFO@IDENTITYCOMICS.COM to let us know what we can draw for you!

We’re running this sale for 2 weeks from Nov. 18^th till Dec. 2^nd. We plan on mailing out all art starting Dec. 9^th. All sketches will be drawn on 5.5x8.5” cardstock paper. At the end of each week we will post names and how many sketches they’ve requested on IdentityComics.com so that you know exactly how much donations we’ve received and exactly what we’re sending to the Philippine Red Cross. This is part of our effort to be as transparent and honest as possible.

We’re not a non-profit organization, we won’t have any forms to give you that you can use to write off your donations for tax purposes. We’re just 3 people trying to draw sketches in exchange for donations towards disaster relief. If you are uncomfortable about this, we completely understand and we highly encourage you to please give your donations directly to the Philippine Red Cross or other organizations that will help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

I hardly know where to start. Wizard World Philly was just amazing. The ID Comics team and I had a great time and we probably did more commission pieces than we ever have at a single show. I really want to thank everyone who came out and hung with us. You all really made this trip to Philly an amazing one. I really can't wait to go back next year.

The photos I'm posting are from all the great stuff that happened at the show, plus all the cool commission pieces.

Oh yeah, and maybe most importantly, I got to meet Superman! yup Brandon Routh in the flesh. It was fantastic.

Up next is Heroes in Charlotte. We always have a great time at Heroes so I figure this trip is gonna be pretty bananas. Peng and I will be hanging out at the BOOM! booth chatting and doing sketches while Flash holds down the fort in Artist Alley at tables AA218/AA219.  Everything is going like 90 miles an hour! More cons happening than I have ever done before and it's been great! C2E2, Free Comic Book Day, and Motor City are in the books with Philly up next. Each show has been amazing and I just wanna say thank you to everyone who comes by to hang out with me and the ID Comics crew. You all really make doing comics the best job on earth and I wouldn't dream of doing anything else.

Vs Zombies and Cons

Work has been pretty much non stop for the last 3 weeks or so. It's been great to have so much going on and so many cons to hit up. so far I think me and the ID Crew have done about 12 cons and we just added 2 more. The WV POP CON, Morgantown, WVOctober 6-7, 2012 that me and my team will be guesting at (the show really looks like it's gonna be a blast and I can't wait!). We also just added the
Annapolis Comic-Con | Annapolis, MD, October 27, 2012 another home town show. I can't get enough of the local shows. It's really great to hang out and talk shop with my peeps from around the way.

Speaking of cons (u gotta love that segway right?!) the Baltimore con was totally off the hook. Me and the crew had the best show we have ever had. Huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to pick up a comic, print, or commission. You guys all rock. I also got to hang out at the BOOM! Studios booth and meet Ross Richie for the first time and sign some con exclusive versions of FANBOYS VS ZOMBIES #1.

All the while Pennie, Flash and I battled to get the latest issue of FVZ out on time. It was a battle of epic proportions, but we made it and I think this issue tops em all so far. Flash and I actually split up the art chores this issue and he rocked out some classic stuff. prepare to get your shoes knocked off.

And last but not least  the love of my life (PENG) got me some brand new kicks fresh from Krypton to keep me extra fly at this years remaining cons. Yup, I'm a lucky guy. She also found it in her heart to indulge my love of TMNT and got me a set of the figures based on the new animated series. They are lean green fighting machines! Yes, I know I'm a nerd.

Free Comic Book Day!

I'll be at Third Eye Comics in Annapolis May5th!

So today is clearly Avengers day and sadly I won't be able to squeeze in a trip to the theater to watch good bash in evil's face until sometime next week. Until then I will just have to be jealous of all u out there who have already seen it.

The big news is that Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day and I'll be signing at Third Eye Comics in Annapolis. We'll be celebrating the stores brand new location in style so if u r gonna be near by come on through and check us out! I'll be doing commissions on the spot and I may even have some original pages for sale.

Back to the Grind

where the magic happens!

I spent all day yesterday in the waiting room at the doctor's office so I wasn't able to get any work done. The good news is that I figured that would happen so I planned ahead and didn't have any major deadlines or meetings planned. Now I'm back at work and ready to rock.

I haven't been in my new place for too long so Peng and I are still getting the place in order. We haven't put up any art yet, but it's slowly coming together. The photo above is my current work space.

And this last pick is the Christmas gift I got for Peng. It is of her character Lali from "The Brotherhood of Fighters" book that the ID studio is working on. I found the artist on DA her name is misscoffee if you get the chance please check her out. she does AMAZING work as you can see.

Otakon!

So Every year Peng-Peng and I go to Otakon (really big anime show) in Baltimore and we always have a great time. Normally We will hit the dealer room for almost the entire show and buy a bunch of cool anime related knick-knacks and other goodies and generally soak up all the anime culture. This year we had toyed with the idea of getting a table in artist's alley and setting up to do the show like we would a comic con. We applied on the first day that the show opened registration, but, the show is so popular that we didn't make it in. We ended up being put on the waiting list, and we didn't have much hope that we might actually get a table.


So months pass and the date for Otakon arrives. We head on out to Baltimore to attend the show as fans and BOOM! We find out that we are able to get the Artist Alley table after all. It was great, but terrifying. We had to scramble to put our stuff together for the con, plus I had scheduled a caricature gig during the second day of the show. It all felt like a huge gamble. We had never done an anime show before and we couldn't be sure that our art would be received in a positive way.

Well, let me tell you.... The show was amazing! The fans at Otakon showed us so much love that Peng-Peng and I could hardly believe it. We got so busy that we had to close commissions on Saturday! I did have to leave for about 5 hours to do my gig, but Peng was a trooper and powered the day on her own (there was also this whole thing with someone pulling the fire alarm and let me tell u it SUCKED!).


I know for a fact the we will do everything on our power to do the show as artists again next year, and hopefully some of the other members of ID will be able to make it as well. We always seem to have a greater impact when we r all together.
