Joker, Harley, Catwoman, Bane

I'm a big Superman fan, but I like Batman too and I gotta say, Bats has a great line up of baddies to punch. I've been leaning into design more recently and I was inspired to take a shot at this bad bunch. I wanted to stay true to what I love about each of these characters while, hopefully, adding my own flair. I feel like I'm not quite happy with Harley. I think her head is probably a little too big, but I love how the Joker came out. Really creepy!

X-MEN with an 80s flair

I have recently been collecting the 90's versions of the X-Men from Marvel Legends. I love the figures and they have gotten me all nostalgic for the old school X-cartoon from the 90's. I loved that show! I would wake up every Saturday morning super excited to watch the drama unfold.  That's why I sketched up this piece with Wolverine and Cyclops. This image was just was just clawing it's way out of me!

I'm really working to bring more story to my art lately. For me that means less pin up art and more story driven pieces that say something, along with more interesting camera angles. This piece is all about my love for the classic timeless idea of batman. I wanted to convey a version of the characters that always resonated with me. KickStarter CountDown

  The Identity Comics Studio is returning to it's roots and going back to self publishing! Our kickstarter will go live on July 11th (that's 7/11!) We are producing our first anthology in 10 years, The BluePrint 2! The book will feature stories written and drawn by the studio artists PENG, FLASH, and myself and with writting by our pals Kenny Groom and Jeffery and Susan Bridges.

My primary contribution to the book is the return of Hyperboy! I created him way back in the late 90s and the team and I produced the first comic back in o6. I've always wanted to come back to the character and the BluePrint has given me the chance to bring him back and give him the update he deserves.

CTNX 2015

Me and the ID Studios crew are headed back to Burbank! This will be our second  trip to CTNX, but our first time exhibiting in their artist alley. you can find Peng and I at T2121 and Bryan at T217. We will have all our usual tricks plus new artbooks/ sketchbooks for sale, maybe even a new print or 2.

SDCC Artist Alley 2015

We are BACK!!!

Last year I wasn't able to make it to SSDC. It was a really tough decision to make. I just didnt have the money to make it happen. Needless to say it was a bummer. I felt like the comic industry had moved on without me. Here we are a year later and things have fallen back into place. I am ready to rock and for the first time I have a table in Artist Alley! I'll be set up next to my amazingly talented wife, PENG at AA 15-16. We are gonna have all the con goodies you have come to expect from us plus we will be doing on the spot commission work.

If you are gonna be at the show you gotta come by and kick it with us for a bit. I can't wait to see yall!

NYCC Special Edition

NYCC Special Edition is this weekend! Come on out and chill with PENG and me. We will be selling prints and comics as well as doing commissions. If you are in New York this weekend its a no brainer to stop by and say hi!

Back from Emerald City

Wow! Emerald City was amazing! I had an amazing time in Seattle and got to meet a ton of new people. The Bill and Ted signing was fantastic too. I can't wait to go back next year!

I'm pretty excited that the next issue of Bill and Ted's Triumphant return comes out next week so I figure it's a great time to post a page!

Emerald City Con is next Weekend! I'm so excited about the show! PENG and I will be attending as guests this year. It's going to be fantastic. We love Seattle and ECCC is one of the greatest cons out there. I'll be doing a signing at the Boom! Studios booth on Sunday, but for most of the show I'll be at Artist Alley I-06. Come out and chill with us if you are planning to come to the show. We'll have plenty of prints, and comics plus it's the perfect time to pick up a custom sketch from us. I also wanted to post my new Superman print! The colors are by the super talented Gabriel Cassata.

On the Grind

2014 was a struggle. I had a lot of stuff hit me head on. My health took a dive during the second half of 2013 and I really spent 2014 coming to terms with my new normal. Now I'm as settled as I can be and back at work. 2015 is going full steam ahead and I'm working on quite a few projects. The biggest is Bill and Ted's Triumphant Return. I'm working with the amazing Bryan Lynch and Boom! Studios to bring you the new adventures of Bill and Ted. It's great to start the year on a high note. I can't wait till everyone gets to see the pages. This book is one of the most fun projects I've ever worked on.

This year I'm continuing work on XCT. I'm about half way through issue 2 now . PENG is also helping out with inks on the book. This book is all action all the time. If you enjoyed the zero issue and issue 1 then you are in for a treat because it only gets better from here!

The next project I'm working on is Claims. I've been working on this with my Pal Tim Shultz. Most of the art team from FVZ has contributed to this one. Me on pencils, PENG on inks and letters, and Flash on colors. It's a really funny story about an insurance agent who insures super hero damage. This is going to be one to keep an eye on.

This convention season is about to kick in too! We are starting the year at Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle. Its been a couple years since we've done that one, but PENG and I are really excited to be going back as guests in the Artist Alley. We'll also be back at Awesome Con in DC, NYCC and a few more. As We get these shows squared away I'll be updating about them.

Finally the ID Studio is making more moves on our Brotherhood Characters. There will be much more about this in the next few months.

Back From the Dead

 So I've been away from the internet for a while now and I just want to let everyone know that it wasn't just a case of being lazy on my part. I was hospitalized on Christmas eve because my kidneys failed. I had been really sick for a long time, but I just didn't want to admit it. It was really tough to take the news, but since I ended up staying in the hospital for about 2 weeks I guess I had plenty of time to let it all sink in. It took a long time to get back on my feet, but here I am.

  I have tons of news to share and I'll be back on a regular posting schedule from now on so There will be lots of new art from me soon. I'm really working hard to get a few projects off the ground as well as being knee deep in some pretty cool projects. For starters I drew issue 255 of Sonic the Hedgehog. It was so fun to work on and just too cool to have a chance to work on such big property. I also just finished up work on Extreme Champion Tournament #0. The story created and written byShaun Paulet is focuses on Spartcus and pits him against all kinds of creatures in a futuristic gladiatorial arena. The kickstarter is live now. If you are into action and huge fights then this one is for you. Right now I am working on the soon to be released Loki: Ragnarok and Roll with the incredibly talented Eric Esquivel, lovely and amazing Peng-Peng and the fantastic Gabriel Cassata. I can hardly believe how fun it is to draw the book and it s being published by Boom! Studios so it's like being home

Things are finally starting to settle back into normalcy for me and I couldn't be happier. It feels good to be spending so much time creating and sharing my work again.
